Rathnappa Madhesh (also known as R. Madhesh) is an Indian-born Tamil film director. He was responsible for directing Vijayakanth's 150th film, Arasangam, in 2008.[1]

He entered the industry along with director Shankar and working with him since his first film 'Gentleman'. While working on films like 'Gentleman', 'Kadhalan' and 'Jeans', He was exposed to production and direction, which had helped him establish himself as a successful producer. He not only co-produced 'Mudhalvan' starring Arjun but also co-directed the movie along with Shankar.
His experience while working in 'Jeans' (directed by Shankar) helped him venture into production with courage. He also got the opportunity to tour many countries to choose the locations for 'Jeans'. His involvement in the area of film production enabled him to learn the difficulties a producer faced.
Madhesh, who had distributed many movies including successful ones like 'Thulluvatho Illamai' till the Ajith-starrer 'Villain'.[2]
He produced Prashanth's Choclet under his banner 'Movie Magic'. He directed Vijay's Madurey and Arasangam which was 150th film of Vijayakanth.
